Law on Armenian Genocide recognition is first one adopted by French parliament in 21st century

PanARMENIAN.Net - On October 8, Chairman of the Armenian National Assembly Hovik Abrahamyan met with a French delegation participating in the Armenian-French forum of decentralized cooperation.

Hovik Abrahamyan attached importance to decentralized cooperation between Armenia and France, saying that Armenia will always remember the solidarity displayed by French cities after the 1988 disastrous earthquake in Armenia.

For his part, Deputy Mayor of Nice Rudy Salles hailed the Armenian-French friendly relations, saying that Armenia’s Independence Day is the only foreign holiday marked in France. He added that the law on the Armenian Genocide recognition was the first one adopted by the French parliament in the 21st century, the RA NA press service reported.
