Incident in Armenian military unit registered on New Year’s eveJanuary 7, 2011 - 16:05 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - An incident took place on the New Year’s eve at the checkpoint of one of military units in Ijevan region of Armenia between unit commander Sergey Karapetyan and several civilians. “A criminal case was initiated under the article 258.3 (hooliganism) of Armenian Penal Code,” RA Defense Minister’s spokesman David Karapetyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. There are no detainees, investigation is under way. The dispute burst out after commander Karapetyan demanded that the civilians should leave the unit. The young people refused to obey, starting a scuffle, as a result of which two of them were taken to hospital with injuries. Karapetyan was also injured.
