In an interview to ANS Azerbaijani TV channel, Vashadze stressed Georgia’s interest in rapid resolution of the conflict, expressing readiness to act as mediator Deputy Foreign Minister of Georgia Nino Kalandadze denied the statement of Foreign Minister Vashadze, circulated by Azeri media. “I never heard Minister Vashadze’s statement on Karabakh issue. However, as far as I’m informed, the Minister never mentioned Georgia’s interest in acting as a mediator in Karabakh conflict settlement,” Kalandadze noted. “Conflicts pose danger to regional stability, so the sooner they’re resolved, the better. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
