Thomas Hammarberg: inability to reveal circumstances of March 2008 events in Yerevan is serious failure

PanARMENIAN.Net - CoE Commissioner for Human Rights Thomas Hammarberg said that the inability of the investigating commission and Office of RA Prosecutor General to reveal circumstances of 10 people’s death during the March 2008 events in Yerevan is a serious failure.

The fact that circumstances of the tragic death of 10 people have not been revealed yet is equal to impunity, Hammarberg told a press conference in Yerevan.

He noted that policemen displayed lack of professionalism in fulfilling their duties on March 1-2, 2008.
