A petition addressed to European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon stressed that Georgian authorities hardened their policy towards Armenian population of the country, specifically Javakhk Armenians. Those undersigned demanded immediate liberation of Vahagh Chakhalyan, non-prosecution of Armenian activists, provision of legal status to the Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, lifting the ban on the import of Armenian-language literature and media and allowing the entrance of Armenian politicians in charge of Javakhk issues in the territory of Georgia, javakhk.net reported. ![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire.
