  Armenian bloggers demand liberation of Javakhk activist Vahagn ChakhalyanMarch 15, 2011 - 16:15 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - A group of Armenian bloggers launched a signature-gathering campaign 1000 days into the arrest of Javakhk politician Vahagn Chakhalyan. A petition addressed to European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon stressed that Georgian authorities hardened their policy towards Armenian population of the country, specifically Javakhk Armenians. Those undersigned demanded immediate liberation of Vahagh Chakhalyan, non-prosecution of Armenian activists, provision of legal status to the Georgian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, lifting the ban on the import of Armenian-language literature and media and allowing the entrance of Armenian politicians in charge of Javakhk issues in the territory of Georgia, javakhk.net reported. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
