ANC coordinator names Heritage MP a 'Baron Munchausen'

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Armenian National Congress (ANC) coordinator Levon Zurabyan named the Heritage parliamentary group leader Stepan Safaryan a “teller of tall tales”, comparing him to Baron Munchausen.

According to Zurabyan, the falsity of Safaryan's statement is proved by the fact that, although insisting on having seen the ANC coordinator at Levon Ter-Petrossian's house in the afternoon of March 1,2008, he couldn't possibly have done that since Safaryan only managed to get there after midnight, passing though police cordons.

“Safaryan's statement is a lie. I have not wish to reply any further questions in this regard,” Zurabyan said.

ANC leader, the fist Armenian President Levon Ter-Petrossian must be held politically responsible for the death of 10 people in tragic events of March 1, 2008, the leader of Heritage opposition party’s parliamentary group earlier stated on his Facebook page.

As Stepan Safaryan stressed in his post, Ter-Petrossian should have foreseen the development of the events at Myasnikyan Square, by either being present in person or dismissing the rally to prevent the tragedy.

According to Safaryan, in the morning of March 1, 2008 he informed Ter-Petrossian about the gathering of people at Myasnikyan Square, to which the ex-president replied, “it’s not my people.”
