Armenian President thanks Riksdag for Genocide recognition

PanARMENIAN.Net - On April 23, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan met with the Deputies of the Riksdag of the Kingdom of Sweden Annelie Enochson and Fredrik Malm, awarded Medal of Honour of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide by the Swedish Parliament.

Armenian President emphasized the importance of Swedish MPs’ visit in the further development of Armenia-Sweden parliamentary ties. On behalf of the Armenian nation, President Sargsyan thanked the Riksdag for Armenian Genocide recognition, noting that it might serve as an important example for other nations.

“We believe that Turkey must follow Germany’s example by acknowledging its fault for the Genocide and asking Armenian nation’s pardon,” the Swedish MPs stressed, according to presidential press service.
