ARMENIAN GOVERNMENT APPROVED THE FESTIVITIES PROGRAM TO BE HELD ON THE OCCASION OF THE 1700TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE ADOPTION OF CHRISTIANITY

"The government of Armenia approved the State Program of Festivities to be held on the occasion of the 1700th anniversary of the Proclamation of Christianity as the State religion in Armenia", said deputy head of the state committee for festivities organization Khosrov Harutiunian.

Festivities representing spiritual-cultural heritage of Armenia will be held all over Armenia in 2001. "This is a splendid opportunity to represent our culture and traditions to the world", Harutiunian said.

He said that such festivities will also be held abroad, in the countries with large Armenian communities.

A number of international organizations are included among the participants - London Academy of Sciences, "21st century generation" (Great Britain), Dante Arts Center (Italy). These organizations have charged themselves with all the participation expenses. -0-
