PRESIDENT OF ARMENIA HELD A MEETING TODAY WITH THE LEADERS OF "DASHNAKTSUTYUN" PARTY

PanARMENIAN.Net - 13.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The President of Armenia Robert Kocharian met today with members of "Dashnaktsutiun" party Bureau, was reported to MEDIAMAX in the press office of the President of the republic.

The interlocutors discussed social-economic problems of Armenia, as well as foreign policy questions, particularly the question of the recognition of the Armenian Genocide of 1915. President Kocharian and leaders of "Dashnaktsutiun" noted that the celebration of the 1700th anniversary of the adoption of Christianity in 2000 will give Armenia wide possibilities to present its cultural-spiritual values to the world, and paid much attention to the necessity to organize the festivities on a worthy level.

The participants of the meeting especially highlighted the problem of the struggle against corruption. Noting that a number of bills on this matter are already submitted to the National Assembly, President Kocharian stressed the importance of the bill "On civic service". -0-
