CREATION OF ARMENIAN-RUSSIAN ENERGY JOINT VENTURE IS CONSIDERED IN CONTEXT OF CONVERSION OF THE ARMENIAN DEBT TO RUSSIA

PanARMENIAN.Net - 13.10.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The terms of creation of an Armenian-Russian joint energy enterprise are considered within the context of conversion of the state debts of Armenia to the Russian Federation, said today Armenian Energy Minister Karen Galustian. The accord on formation of enterprise was reached during the recent visit of the Armenia President Robert Kocharian to Russia. The Armenian debt to Russia stands at $113 mln today.

According to Galustian, currently the list of energy enterprises which are to be used for creation of Joint Venture is under the consideration. The Armenian Minister stressed that the capacity of Hrazdan Power station and its price is being examined. Galustian stressed that proper conclusions will be made soon and the results of calculations will be handed to the Russian specialists. --0--
