THE USA EXPECTS TURKEY AND AZERBAIJAN TO CONCLUDE A GAS SALE AGREEMENT THIS FALL

PanARMENIAN.Net - 14.09.2000, MEDIAMAX, YEREVAN. The USA expects that the gas sale agreement between Turkey and Azerbaijan will be concluded this fall, declared in Washington D.C. U.S. Ambassador John S. Wolf, Special Advisor to the president and secretary of State for Caspian Energy Issues.

Wolf also said that the United States strongly supports Turkey's and Georgia's efforts to diversify natural gas supplies and encourages Azerbaijan's desire to export gas to Georgia, Turkey and Europe. The U.S. administration hopes Turkmenistan will choose to join this project at some point in the future, he said. -0-
