RUSSIAN PARLIAMENT UPPER HOUSE SPEAKER ON SHORT-TERM VISIT IN ARMENIANovember 1, 2003 - 20:03 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Conferences devoted to the issues of cooperation between the regions of Russia and Armenia will be held in Moscow and Yerevan in 2004. The agreement on this was achieved today in Yerevan during the meeting of Armenian National Assembly chairman Artur Baghdasarian and chairman of the Russian Federation Council Sergey Mironov. As the Russian Speaker told journalists after the meeting, political relations should be consolidated by commercial-economic cooperation, and holding a conference of such character, during which the leaders of Russian and Armenian regions could agree upon some concrete issues, will contribute to it. In his turn Artur Baghdasarian informed that Armenia will also be presented at the 8-th international forum to be held in Saint Petersburg June 2004. In his words, it will give the opportunity for the Russian and Armenian businessmen to establish new contacts. The center of Russian culture will be opened in Armenia within the framework of cultural cooperation.![]() ![]() Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
