ILHAM ALIYEV SAYS DEPLOYMENT OF US BASES IN AZERBAIJAN NOT ON AGENDAFebruary 2, 2004 - 17:29 AMT PanARMENIAN.Net - Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that the issue of deploying the NATO and US military bases at the territory of the country are not on the agenda. "I would not like to comment on the questions, which have not been put on the agenda, including the ones of the bases. There are no negotiations held on the subject though it is periodically discussed", Azeri leader said in his interview to the Russian television in response to the question whether the US bases will be formed at the Azerbaijani territory. I. Aliyev stressed that "there exist the interests of the great powers, however Azerbaijan's interests are in the foreground".Grigoryan added that the situation around the world and particularly in the region is very difficult. The Armenian Defense Ministry has denied Azerbaijan's accusations of violating the ceasefire. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan took to social media to thank his Lithuanian counterpart for the contribution.
