ARMENIAN MFA DOES NOT SHARE ARF DASHNAKTSUTYUN'S POSITION ON SOME FOREIGN POLICY ISSUES

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian Foreign Ministry disagrees with some of the Armenian Dashnaktutyun party's (ARFD) positions on foreign policy, expressed at the 29th Congress of the ARF. In the words of RA FM spokesperson Gamlet Gasparian, though the ARFD is a member of the ruling coalition, its stands do not reflect the foreign policy of the country. "Those are strictly ARFD's own positions and this is not the first time that they have expressed them publicly", he said. To note, Hrant Margarian from the ARFD Bureau said at the opening session of the ARFD Congress that the issue on opening of the Armenian-Turkish border may not be considered unless Turkey recognizes the Armenian Genocide of 1915. Besides, ARFD holds the opinion that the Armenian people should support the demand of autonomy by the Armenian-inhabited Javakheti region of Georgia.
