AMD 213mln allocated for monuments restoration in 2010

PanARMENIAN.Net - Director of the Center for Restoration of Monuments Vardan Parsamyan regrets that preservation of historical monuments is not among the government’s priorities.

“The funds allocated by the government are not enough, Parsamyan told a press conference in Yerevan.

“AMD 213mln was allocated from the state budget for the purpose this year,” Parsamyan said, adding that AMD 80-100mln is needed for restoration of one monument.

Presenting the center’s activity, Parsamyan said that around 26 monuments are studied annually for reconstruction, while rehabilitation of a monument may take from 2 to 4 years.
