Chairman of Commission for Lake Sevan issues briefs RA President on implementation of 2010 programs

PanARMENIAN.Net - Chairman of the commission for Lake Sevan issues Vladimir Movsisyan briefed Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on implementation of the Commission’s programs in 2010.

The matter of approval of the program on monitoring of Lake Sevan ecological system and water environment was presented to the President. The program envisages creation of a new system of monitoring and assessments, as well as a databank.

According to Movsisyan, the program for 2010 was completely implemented within the set terms.

The envisaged measures were basically aimed at increasing water level of the lake, provision of water purity, as well as restoration of the ecological system and biodiversity of the lake.

The President instructed the commission to implement works on purification.

The Commission’s activity in 2011 will be basically aimed at solving problems with water purification of the lake, the RA presidential press service reported.
