In an interview with RomaTV, Mkhitaryan described the season as "positive", despite the injuries he has had to deal with. "Unfortunately, these things happens and I’m disappointed that I missed so many matches, but it wasn’t an issue. I managed to get back into shape and I played better. I feel good and hope to continue like this," the midfielder said. "We will improve our position (in the table) next year, I am certain. We have a squad mixed with both young and experienced players, we’ve got the right mix. We can help the younger players with our experience and teach them some things both on and off of the pitch." According to the Armenia international, Roma manager Paulo Fonseca knows who to play each match. "The club is doing everything possible to reach the top. We wanted to finish in the top four this season and win the Coppa Italia, but now we must focus on winning the Europa League. We’ll be more prepared next season. Fonseca’s ideas and philosophy were new to all of us. You can’t achieve everything in year one, I hope we do better next year," he added.
