Intergovernmental Commission published investigation results of Armenian A-320 crash

PanARMENIAN.Net - The Intergovernmental Aviation Committee (IAC) has published the investigation results of the air disaster of A-320 airplane from "Armavia" Air Company, when it was approaching Sochi on May 3, 2006. Because of low nebulosity the flying control officer forbid the pilot of A-320 to land, when the plane was a few kilometers away from the airport, ordering to try a second circle. During this maneuver the plane crashed into the water not far away from seashore. 113 peoples died then. The main conclusion of the Technical Commission on the investigation results of the catastrophe says that when gaining height and a turn for the second circle, the pilot of A-320 lost orientation, because of which the airplane instead of ascension began to descend, which resulted in fall. When the crew realized that the situation is catastrophic, it was impossible to do anything, say experts of IAC.

According to the results of investigation, "the airplane, its systems and engines were capable of working after take-off from Yerevan. The commission also has not found any evidences of failure by any system of the plane and engines during the last flight. There was no destruction in the air. All damages to the construction took place in the result of collision with water. Meteorological and air-navigation maintenance of the flight on the moment of crash was correspondent to the requirements of acting normative documents. Weather conditions on the moment of disaster were heavy and did not correspond to minimum requirements. Inaccuracies committed by the flight control officer have no direct relation with the causes of air catastrophe, however they influenced on the initial decision of the crew to return Yerevan. Flight control officer's orders to stop landing and gain 600 meters height with right-side turnover do not fully correspond to the requirements of Work Technologies of air control officer, but they did not have any direct influence on the outcome of the flight, IA Regnum reports.
