Ankara pursues inconsiderate policy in both Near East and Caucasus

PanARMENIAN.Net - Orientalist Araks Pashayan said that Turkey’s authority has considerably increased in the Near East after the raid on Freedom Flotilla. Currently, the Arab countries consider Turkey to be a “charismatic state,” Pashayan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

“Turkey’s provocation against Israel proves once again that Ankara is trying to gain leading positions in the Near East. Currently, Turkey’s cooperation with Iran and Arab countries is developing at an unprecedented high level. Turkey is trying to participate in solution of regional problems, as well as in overcoming the tension between the West and Islamic countries,” the expert said.

In her opinion, the worsening of relations with Israel and deepening of distrust show that Ankara’s policy in the Near East has become inconsiderate. “From the other side, Ankara’s stance in the Karabakh conflict resolution factually suggests that Turkey does not pursue a balanced policy in Caucasus either,” noted Araks Pashayan.
