Director General of Turkey’s Machine and Chemistry Organization (MKEK) Unal Onsipahioglu said that according to the agreement achieved with the Azerbaijani side, IST 12.7 model of Istiglal sniper rifle assembled by the experts of the Ministry of Defense Industry, will be also produced by MKEK. “Technology data exchange is also under way,” Onsipahioglu said. Azerbaijani-made IST 12.7 sniper rifle was for the first time demonstrated at Africa Aerospace Defense-2010 (AAD-2010) in Cape Town, Republic of South Africa. IST 12.7, an improved and smaller model of IST 14.5 has an increased efficiency against remote targets and even armored targets. ![]() ![]() Azerbaijani authorities report that they have already resettled 3,000 people in the Nagorno-Karabakh town of Stepanakert.
