RA President: Armenia ready to sign comprehensive agreement on Karabakh

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said that Armenia is adhered to a peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.

International and regional issues, as well as Armenia’s stance on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement were in the focus of the meeting with Latvian President Valdis Zatlers, Sargsyan told a joint press conference with Zatlers on March 9 in Riga.

“Armenia has stated that it is ready for a peaceful resolution of the conflict based on compromises. The OSCE Minsk Group deals with it. Its co-chair countries try to find the best solution with participation of the parties to the conflict,” said Sargsyan.

He added that in 2007 the Co-Chairs offered a settlement based on three principles: nation’s right to self-determination, non-use of force and territorial integrity. “Armenia is ready to move forward based on these principles and sign a comprehensive agreement,” concluded Sargsyan.
