ARMENIANS OF GEORGIA INDIGNANT ABOUT GEORGIAN DEPUTY'S PROVOCATIVE STATEMENTS

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenian community of Tbilisi spoke with an open letter, expressing " deep indignation about the statements of Georgian parliament member, Renaissance faction representative Sandro Bregvadze. As reported by Arminfo agency according to Black Sea Press, in his interview to one of the Georgian TV channels Bregvadze spoke about "the US Armenian lobby's false programs for committing a coup in Georgia bringing to power the native Armenians there". Bregvadze's statement not to permit Armenians living in the Georgian territory to participate in the presidential election also aroused the discontent of the Armenian community. "Let us note, that the Armenian community, wherever it resided, has always contributed to the state organization of the country. Proceeding from this fact, the statements of the Renaissance representative are at least improbable", - the letter runs. It as well reports that that the Armenian residents of Georgia are the part of the society with the corresponding constitutional rights and responsibilities. The authors of the letter expressed hope that the present theme will no more appear the subject of the pre-electoral political discussions.
