ILHAM ALIYEV RECIEVES CONGRATULATIONS
The anniversary of “heir of the throne” was marked in Baku.
The anniversary of the son of the President Heydar Aliyev was marked in Azerbaijan these days. The celebrations started from the Parliament. An MP from the governing party, Vagif Abdullayev started his speech dedicated to the important event with the following words: “Today is a historical day, the anniversary of Ilham Aliyev”. Then all the merits of the "distinguished political figure" were emphasized.
The Speaker of the Milli Mejlis Murtuz Aleskerov noted that he agreed with everything said and added some other compliments. Ilham's anniversary was congratulated also by the press, because he is not only the son of the President, first vice chairman of the "Eni Azerbaijan" governing party, the head of the Azerbaijani delegation in PACE... His main position is, of course, the "heir of the throne". And he likes this position most of all.
Like in all other totalitarian countries, in Azerbaijan also nobody gets angry because of the monarchy system of governing in the country. The leaders of the governing clan do not even try to hide that they are preparing grounds for passing the power from father to the son. The participants of the last assembly of the "Eni Azerbaijan" party were shouting: "Long live Ilham Aliyev – the future of Azerbaijan".
In Baku they write books and sing songs about the future President of Azerbaijan. Presentation of three books – "Ilham Aliyev in big politics: realities and perspective", "Ilham Aliyev – a factor of nowadays and future successes" and "Ilham Aliyev: I am ready for any fight at any level" took place in May 2002. The presentation was attended by all the parliament authorities and members of the government. The Speaker of the Milli Mejlis said Ilham Aliyev was "the leader of the future" and noted that his activity was "recognized by the people".
The official propaganda provides him with the necessary PR campaign. For example, creation of the legend of a life attempt against Ilham Aliyev. By whom? Of ourse by the Armenians. The politicians use any opportunity to stress that the son of the President succeeds in anything he undertakes.
He does not succeed only in playing cards. Few years ago, when he lost $1.5 million in a casino, Heydar Aliyev was obliged to pay himself. And in order to wean away his son from gambling, his father was obliged to prohibit the activity of casinos on the territory of the country.
