US DEPUTY SECRETARY OF STATE WILL VISIT YEREVAN AND BAKU THIS WEEK
In the coming days US Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage will visit Armenia and Azerbaijan, US State Department Spokesman Richard Baucher stated in Washington. As reported by Associated Press, in the course of the visit to Yerevan, scheduled March 26, Armitage will hold negotiations with Armenian President Robert Kocharian and Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanian. The issue of safety of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant will be discussed among other questions. The US will allocate $1 million for the Armenian party to spend on strengthening the physical protection of the station and guarding it from possible terrorist attacks.
