Publisher Ragip Zarakolu released in Turkey

Jailed publisher Ragip Zarakolu and 14 others have been released in the Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) case, Hurriyet Daily News reported citing private broadcaster NTV.

The 15 were released due to the time spent incarcerated since arrest and the state of the evidence, NTV further said.

An Istanbul court had accepted a 2,400-page indictment in the ongoing Kurdistan Communities Union (KCK) trial against 193 suspects, including Zarakolu and renowned academic Büşra Ersanlı.

The KCK is the alleged urban wing of the PKK, which is recognized as a terrorist group by the United States, the European Union and Turkey.
