Amazon has acquired the rights to publish 14 of Ian Fleming's James Bond books in the U.S., The Hollywood Reported said citing The New York Times.

Among the classic novels of espionage and intrigue: Casino Royale, The Spy Who Loved Me and Goldfinger.

"We are devoted fans of Fleming’s Bond novels here at Amazon Publishing, and we’re thrilled these books - already known across the world and across generations - will continue to flourish under our Thomas & Mercer imprint," said Philip Patrick, a director at Amazon Publishing.

The company recently purchased 450 titles from Marshall Cavendish Children’s Books.

As for Bond, James Bond, the swashbuckling ladies' man (as portrayed by Daniel Craig) returns to the big screen this autumn in Skyfall. But before that, he will open the 2012 London Olympic Games, as previously reported, by descending via parachute into the Olympic Stadium.
