ARMENIAN OPPOSITION INTENDS TO HOLD RALLY IN YEREVAN IN SPITE OF CITY HALL REFUSAL TO SANCTION IT
The rally of the united opposition of Armenia will be held in spite of the Yerevan Administration refusal to sanction it, leading representatives of the opposition forces of the country - the Justice bloc, National Unity party and the Communist party - told journalists today. They called the Yerevan City Hall decision "ungrounded and illegal" and considered the court verdict to uphold it to be political. According to a statement spread by the opposition, "a surge of violence and harsh treatment" persists in Armenia. The statement authors again accused the authorities in not fulfilling the requirements of the PACE latest resolution on Armenia, in breaking the citizens' right of free movement and organization of peace rallies.
