ARMENIAN SPEAKER CONSIDERS IMPORTANT COUNTRY'S PARTICIPATION IN WIDER EUROPE: NEW NEIGHBORS EU PROGRAM
Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia Artur Baghdasarian today received Deputy Chairman of the Parliamentary Assembly of the West-European Union Marco Zakera, who is in Yerevan within the framework of a regional visit. As reported by the Armenian Parliament Press Service, in the course of the meeting A. Baghdasarian presented to M. Zakera Armenia's stand on some key issues. Specifically, in his words, Armenia is for peaceful settlement of regional conflicts and establishment of good neighborly relations with the countries of the region. The importance of the country's participation in Wider Europe: New Neighbors European Union program, which provides for new opportunities for political, economic development and integration, was underscored. In the course of the meeting the parties emphasized the need for cooperation between the National Assembly of Armenia and the Parliamentary Assembly of the West-European Union.
