Karabakh issue solvable if conflicting sides’ interests secured – Russian official

Russia is opposed to external interference in Karabakh conflict settlement, believing Azeri and Armenian people to be the only ones responsible for the solution of the issue, Russia’s State Duma speaker said.

As Sergei Naryshkin stressed in Baku, “the problem could be solved, were a solution to be found to secure the interests of both sides. Russia is ready to act as a guarantor of the agreement.”

Russian parliament speaker further expressed the official Moscow’s interest in the establishment of stability in South Caucasus, stressing Russia’s mediatory efforts in solving Karabakh issue.

Also, the speaker expressed Russia’s concern over recent tragic incidents at the line of contact, stressing the use of force as unacceptable, APA reported.
