8% GDP INCREASE EXPECTED IN ARMENIA IN 2005
Last weekend the Armenian Government approved the budget bill for 2005, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy of Armenia Pavel Safarian stated in the course of a briefing. In his words, according to forecasts, next year the Gross Domestic Product will increase 8%, while inflation will make 3%. On average 1 US dollar will cost 535 drams. The amount of official transfers will make 10 billion 100 million drams. A significant part of budget means will be allocated for solution of social problems (health, education, social security). P. Safarian also noted that tax increase or review of tax benefits is not planned. Neither an increase of public services tariffs is expected.
