SUSPENSION OF ELECTRICITY SUPPLY FROM ARMENIA TO TBILISI CAUSED ENERGY CRISIS
The suspension of electricity supply from Armenia to Georgia has caused an energy crisis in Tbilisi. As reported by "Arka" agency referring to the Georgian ministry of energy, it resulted from a decision made by "AES-Telasi" Georgian company yesterday not to extend the contract with Armenia. "At present the energy supply of Tbilisi is not full and introduction of a schedule of fan switching off of electricity supply due to the crisis cannot be ruled out," - said a representative of the ministry. "AES-Telasi" company does not comment on the reasons of refusal from extending the contract with Armenia yet. Let us note that the Georgian capital received 60-120 MW from Armenia. Tbilisi needs a total of 500-600MW to secure the full energy supply.
