Chairman of Armenian National Assembly Standing Committee on Foreign Relations has expressed concerns over Azerbaijan’s possible intensification of efforts to shift the balance of power in the region through Turkish military intervention in the Syrian conflict.
“Azerbaijan may go beyond control,” Artak Zakaryan said, stressing the need for Armenia to take active diplomatic steps to prevent threats to regional stability.
However, he did not rule out that the international community, including Russia, may exert pressure on Azerbaijan to avert any change of the balance of forces in the region.
