48 OUT OF 86 DETAINED PARTICIPANTS OF OPPOSITION UNAUTHORIZED MEETINGS RELEASED
48 out of the 86 detained participants of the unauthorized meetings in Yerevan are released at present. As reported by the press service of the ministry of justice of Armenia, since March 1 the Armenian court of appeal set about hearings of the cases of the citizens, against whom administrative proceedings were instituted for hooliganism and other offences during and after the meetings February 21 and 23. As a result the resolutions of the court of first instance were substituted by milder punishment, namely fines. The consideration of the rest of the cases, according to the source, will begin when corresponding applicatoins are received. Let us note that last week-end Catholicos of all Armenians Garegin II interceded for releasing the citizens called to account for disturbing public order in the course of opposition meetings.
