Expert on U.S. elections: Armenia avoided worst-case scenario

This time Armenia avoided occurrence of a possible worst-case scenario, political expert said.

As Levon Shirinyan noted, U.S.-Armenian relations will go no worse following Barack Obama’s re-election.

“The ties between the two countries will remain unchanged with regard to Artsakh, too,” the expert told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

Dwelling on the U.S. Armenian community’s decision to back neither of the candidates, he stressed the need to consider its possible impacts on relations with Yerevan.

“In case of Mitt Romney’s victory, any change in U.S relations with Russia, Syria, and Iran would adversely affect Armenia,” the expert said, adding that Armenian-American ties are likely to remain unchanged after Obama’s re-election.
