EXPOSITION ON ARMENIAN GENOCIDE OPENING AT LOS ANGELES TOLERANCE MUSEUM
An exposition presenting the Armenian genocide in Ottoman Turkey in 1915 will open in the Los Angeles Tolerance Museum in the near future. It should be noted that the issue had caused differences between the museum directorate and Armenian Americans for a long time. In the museum hall of "Greatest tragedies of 20-th century" video materials on the Armenian Genocide were presented along the Jewish Holocaust. However, US Armenian organizations demanded wider presentation of the Armenian Genocide. The other day museum director Liebe Geft invited representatives of the Armenian Assembly of America to become familiar with final preparation works for the exposition devoted to the Armenian Genocide. "We want to be sure that the 350 thousand visitors, annually coming to the museum will get to know about greatest tragedies of the 20-th century, including the Armenian Genocide," the director noted. Along with the Armenians the museum was also visited by representatives of the Jewish community, including "Simon Vizental" center board member Abraham Cooper, who contributed to organization of the Armenian exposition.
