The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan has delivered a note to the Temporary Charge d'Affaires of Russia in Baku Peter Burdykin, expressing concern over the plans to transfer part of the property of Russian military bases from Georgia to Armenia. "The Azeri society is concerned over the statements of the political and military leaders of Russia, specifically, General Staff Chief Yuri Baluyevsky, over the plans of transfer of part of the property and military equipment of Russian military bases from Georgia to Armenia… Such developments can fit the interests of peace and security in the region by no means," the document says. Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has engaged in questions of moving part of the equipment and servicemen to Armenia. "We need a transit. This demands work, time and solutions fixed in respective arrangements," the Russian leader said.
