Armenian National Assembly Standing Committee on State and Legal Affairs approved the proposal to set up an ad hoc committee on March 1, 2008 events on Dec 3.

However, the representatives of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and Orinats Yerkir parliamentary groups offered to postpone the voting on the motion by one year, with the proposal initiator authorized to put the issue on vote within one year.

Author of the bill, Armenian National Congress (ANC) opposition bloc member Gagik Jhangiryan agreed to the majority’s decision.
