GAREGIN II NOTED IMPORTANT ROLE OF CHURCH IN STRENGTHENING ARMENIAN-RUSSIAN FRIENDSHIP
Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II yesterday received newly appointed Russian Ambassador to Armenia Nikolay Pavlov. As reported by the Press Service of the Holy Echmiadzin Chancellery, having congratulated the diplomat over the appointment, the Supreme Patriarch said he was satisfied with the kind relations between Armenia and Russia and the friendly ties between the two peoples. Garegin II specially highlighted the role and the mission of the Armenian Apostolic Church in strengthening the Armenian-Russian friendship. In his turn the Ambassador assured that like his predecessors he will continue intensifying the cooperation and warm relations that have been formed between Holy Echmiadzin and the Russian Embassy.
