Any citizen of the Republic of Armenia, including Prosperous Armenia party leader Gagik Tsarukyan, has the right to run for president, the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) parliamentary group member said.

“However, there is no alternative to incumbent President Serzh Sargsyan,” Manvel Badeyan told a press conference.

Dwelling on the possible shifts in the government staff following the presidential race, the MP refused to make any forecasts, noting that President Sargsyan is authorized to decide on the issue.
