Armenian grandmaster Hrant Melkumyan won gold at London Chess Classic FIDE Open having gained 7,5 points out of 9 possible.

Netherlands' Robin van Kampen scored the same number of points to come 2nd.

Melkumyan won a prize of £2500 with £1500 and 750 awarded to 2nd and 3rd spot winners respectively.
