Russia works for restoring its military influence in Azerbaijan, former Foreign Policy Advisor of the Azeri President Vafa Guluzade stated at a seminar titled Geo-Strategic Importance of Azerbaijan. In his words, there will never be a war in Karabakh and peace will be established in the region in compliance with the «American scenario.» In Guluzade's words, the Caucasus will soon become a sphere of complete US influence. HE said the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is not an Armenian-Azeri, but a Russian-Azeri conflict: «We should openly state it in all international organizations, including the UN. Russia understands that in case of losing the South Caucasus, it loses the whole of the Caucasus.»
