Bulgarian, Polish FMs urge not to escalate tensions in Karabakh

The parties to Karabakh conflict should refrain from escalating tensions, Bulgarian and Polish Foreign Minister said.

Nikolay Mladenov and Radosław Sikorski made the statement during a joint December 14 news conference with their Armenian and Swedish counterparts, Edward Nalbandian and Carl Bildt.

Mr. Mladlenov slammed recent tensions at the line of contact, stressing the importance of efforts aimed at peaceful settlement of the conflict. He further voiced expectations for decrease of tensions following Baku and Yerevan-hosted talks.

Commenting on OSCE Minsk Group’s proposals, he expressed hope for specific results, urging conflicting parties to refrain from actions or statements capable of exacerbating the situation.
