Breach of blockade would greatly benefit Armenia’s economy, President Serzh Sargsyan said.
Commenting on the possibility of lifting Armenia’s rail blockade by opening of a road through Abkhazia, President Sargsyan said some of local products lack competitiveness due to the impossibility or high cost of transportation.
“Certainly, four parties must reach agreement; however, during his recent visit to Yerevan, Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili voiced confidence that the resumption of the transportation would also benefit Tbilisi,” President Sargsyan said in an interview with Russia’s Kommersant daily.
