Armenia to open embassies in Sweden, Mexico, Indonesia

The Armenian government approved a decision on March 28 to establish embassies in countries with significant regional positions.

Diplomatic outposts will be set up in Sweden, with intensification of ties reported in the past 7-8 years. Sweden is the only Scandinavian country to have recognized the Armenian Genocide.

Establishment of an embassy in Mexico envisages Armenia’s diplomatic presence in the South America’s northern and north-western regions, as well as in Central America and Caribbean basin.

Another embassy will be established in Indonesia.
