Ellen DeGeneres has shared her excitement to work on Finding Dory, Digital Spy said.
The Finding Nemo sequel has been officially confirmed for a 2015 release, and will centre around the character of DeGeneres's forgetful fish.
Speaking on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the comedian joked that the Pixar follow-up was a long time coming.
"I waited and I waited and finally I got the call from the director, Andrew Stanton... and he said, 'Yes indeed, we are going to make Toy Story 3'," DeGeneres bemoaned.
"I said, 'Hooray for Tom Hanks - finally something good for him'."
The chatshow host went on to say that playing Dory is "the most fun in the world" and praised the picture's screenplay.
"I'm excited that it's finally happening and I've read the script - it's fantastic, it's hilarious, it's warm, it's everything that you want it to be," she added, quipping: "And here's the good news - they say I'm one of the top five contenders to play the part of Dory!"
