A spokesman for the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry demonstrated ‘fertile imagination’ during a May 3 press conference in Baku.

Commenting on media reports regarding an Azeri citizen who was blown up on a mine near the settlement of Ghazakh, Eldar Sabiroglu said that the man “was injured and then Armenians brutally killed him.”

In a conversation with a PanARMENIAN.Net, spokesman for the Armenian Defense Ministry Artsrun Hovhannisyan described Sabiroglu’s statement as “a blatant lie that has no reasonable explanation.”

Indeed, a man has little chance to survive if blown up on the type of mine mentioned in the reports. Second, the initial publications on the incident didn’t mention the version of torture that has surfaced afterwards.
