Baku Intends to "Make OSCE Stand on Karabakh More Resolute"
During the visit to Azerbaijan the OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Foreign Minister of Belgium Karel de Gucht will hold an exchange of views over peace settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Novruz Mammadov, said head of the Foreign Relations Department of the Azeri President's Executive Power. "We are fully satisfied that the leaders of many states, international organizations take deep interest in the resolution of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. We want such interests by the countries and organizations to become a demand," Mammadov said. According to him, the visit of Karel de Gucht to Azerbaijan in the first month of his tenure as the OSCE Chairman-in-Office is a remarkable event. "Their hopes for the peaceable settlement of the conflict and statements based on such positions serve to the resolution of the problem and we appraise these efforts," said Mammadov, noting that discussions will be conducted in Baku to consolidate and make the OSCE position on the conflict more resolute. Karel de Gucht, the OSCE chairman-in-office, Foreign Minister of Belgium, will pay a familiarization visit to Azerbaijan on 25 January 2006, reported Trend agency.
