Armenia Against Turkey's Participation in Peacekeeping Mission in Karabakh
"The meeting of Armenian President Robert Kocharian and Karel de Gucht has just finished. The discussion focused on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement," Armenian Foreign Minister Vartan Oskanian stated at today's joint news conference with the OSCE Chairman-in-Office. In his words, the parties to Karabakh conflict disagree on a number of issues and there are obstacles that should be overcome. The RA FM informed that the OSCE head arrived in Armenia to get familiarized with the existing problems and their possible solutions.

"I think from this viewpoint the negotiations were efficient. Robert Kocharian precisely presented Armenia's position on the problem," Vartan Oskanian stressed. Besides, the Minister informed that the OSCE CiO will leave for Baku and expressed hope that the visit will convey a positive stimulus to the upcoming meeting of the Presidents. When asked which states can send peacekeeping forces to Karabakh conflict region if there is a need, Vartan Oskanian noted that the "composition will be ratified with mutual consent of the parties, however it's premature to speak of it at the present moment." "I can say for sure that Turkey's participation in the peacekeeping mission is inadmissible for Armenia," he stated.
