Karabakh Talks in Deadlock, Baku Supposes
Azeri opposition representatives believe the talks on settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict are in a deadlock. «There is a stalemate in the talks over Nagorno Karabakh conflict. Armenia does not wish peace based on international legal principles and is trying to legalize the military occupation of Azeri lands. We lack diplomatic and political tools to impose our position,» Deputy Chair of National Front of Azerbaijan Party (NFAP) Fuad Mustafayev said, when commenting the talks between Azeri and Armenian Presidents held in Rambouillet February 10-11. In his turn, Musavat Party Deputy Chair Arif Gajily supposes the stalemate in the talks leads to weakening of Azerbaijan's position over NK. The two oppositionists indeed hailed the fact that the Azeri party has not agreed to a peace accord running counter to Azerbaijan's interests yet and continues upholding its stand over the Karabakh issue. In the opinion of Karabakh Liberation Organization NGO Chair Akif Nagi, «Azerbaijan should refuse the talks at all owing to absence of prospects to return the occupied lands by peaceful means,» reported Interfax.
