Russian football fans “cross-questioned” in Baku over Armenia ties

Russia’s national team fans are being “cross-questioned” over ties with Armenia at Baku’s Heydar Aliyev Airport.

According to a correspondent of Sovetsky Sport Russian daily, a Muscovite fan who had an Armenian visa stamp in his passport was literally cross-questioned by a border guard.

The Muscovite was released after his picture was taken at the checkpoint.

Russian football fans are travelling to Baku to attend the October 15 Azerbaijan-Russia 2014 World Championship qualifier, as well as participate in a fan’s match.

Azerbaijani Football Federation promised its national team a reward of $127000 for a win over Russia in a 2014 World Championship qualifier.
